Cascading Card

Hey all!

Did you see Sonia's tutorial on Cascading card? I saw this card a while ago but could not dare to make... Sonia's tutorial made it so easy that I couldn't stop myself... Also, a friend gave a card order on a short notice.. She wanted to thank her parents for everything they do for her... how cute is that... and other requirements were something fancy, something big, something DIFFERENT! but..... it should have some space to write some messages on... So I clubbed both the things and came up with this cascading card with a secret space to write sentiments... ;)

I tweaked the measurements a little bit to make it look bigger... I  made it with a 12x12 inches sheet which gave me 2 pieces of  4 x 12 x 8 inches (L x B x H)... so after folding its height is 8 inches... It helped me saving card stock too..
A side view of the cascading card... I took picture in a hurry so its not showing the true beauty of its folds... It looks amazing in real...

The Family alphabets were part of die-cut pack I bought from Joann. It was there as one word but I cut it into letters so that I can arrange it in a semi circle. The butterfly is from Itsy Bitsy.. they have come up with an amazing collection of embellishments. But quite expensive.. :(

Now, if you untie the ribbon on the side, a mini album will pop up... I have used journal tags from Kaisercraft here..

Supply List:

CS: Fabriano Brustro
PP: Echo Park "Be Mine" courtesy ImaginationsOnline
Die cuts: Kaisercraft' Childs Play from Itsy Bitsy
Flowers, butterflies: Little birdie from Itsy Bitsy
Other embellishments: K & Co Die-Cut Embellishments eco-modern
Tools: Fiskar's SureCut paper trimmer, MS doily border punch

Entering into following challenges:
Penny black at allsorts - Spring Time
allsorts challenge - Say it with flowers
Crazy4challenges - Spring
Scrapalicioususa - A cut above
Papercreationsink - Spring is in the Air

My friend liked it alot! According to her this is my best creation as of now. But then she said the same when I showed him the train card... :P What do you think about it? Please provide me your feedback and suggestions. ... I would love to hear from you...

Thanks for looking!

Train Card

Hi All,

How are you doing... I am so sorry for being little inactive now a days... Trying hard to catch up with everyone on regular basis... I have so many projects to share.. Will try to cover up as much as possible..
Today I wanna share a train card I made recently.. It's for the same little boy for whom I made this Jungle Birthday card.. But this time Its from his grand parents. After seeing the Jungle card given by my friend, they ordered one from their side... Frankly speaking, making cards for children is really a difficult job. But I really loved Tejal's this train card and so wanna try it. So this was an opportunity for me. Thanks Tejal for the inspiration! :)

Here it is! The engine at the front... All the parts of the train is hand drawn n cut.. I used 3-D silver glittery stars to make smoke clouds...

and the bogies.. The child's name was Hani so I made 4 bogies filled with toys!...

The toys are nothing but the tabs to pull out the tags.. These were message tags when grand parents wrote the messages for their grandson... and I made a matching envelope to go with the card...

A lot of things has gone into making it.. so here is the list.

CS: Blue-Loca buy, White - Fabriano Brustro
PP: Blue Breeze Paper pack from Imagination's online, EP papers from different paper packs
Stars, Sentiments, Alphabets: Itsy Bitsy
3-D embellishment stickers: Local buy

Holi Hai!!! (It's Holi!!!)

Hi all,

How was the weekend? It feels sad as now the weekend is over :( same boring daily job routine will start tomorrow... I am waiting for the day when I don't have to go to office and I will be sitting and crafting to my heart content... :D but then I have to do the job so that I can buy whatever craft supplies I want... ;)

Anyhow... lets come back to the reality so that I can share a card I made as a GD for ICRC16... and the theme is....

Yes.. it's Holi!!! The festival of colors and spring!!! For my international readers, here is the link for you to know this Indian festival better...

The theme for the ICRC16 is HOLI + Use only 3 colors - Fuschia pink, bright green and bright yellow (Use of black and Neutrals like white and off- white will be allowed ) with a dare  to use a misting technique.
And here is my card...

I gave the misting effect by adding fine water droplets to the background of distress inked paper. Almost everything is from Itsy Bitsy... Blank CS... Alphabets... and small hand punch..

It is a pretty simple card.. but I loved it... I am sending this one to my parents... :)

I am entering this card to following challenges...
1. the paper players - Spring
2. Crafter's Companion - Spring
3. simon says stamps challenge - Anything goes
